About Cancer InsuranceAllstate Benefits Cancer Insurance pays cash benefits after a diagnosis of cancer or one of 29 other specified diseases. The benefit can help reduce financial stress during a difficult time and allow everyone to focus on treatment and recovery.
How Cancer Insurance WorksCancer Insurance benefits are paid for hospital stays, radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, medications, prosthesis and other associated treatments. People with this coverage submit claims after diagnosis and/or treatment and benefits are paid for approved diagnoses and procedures based on a pre-determined schedule of benefits. Some plans may include additional treatment benefits, and an annual wellness benefit for completing routine screenings.
Features and benefits
Meet JoePrior to his annual physical, Joe has a PSA test. At his appointment, his doctor expresses concern with the results and sends him for additional testing. Those results lead to a diagnosis of prostate cancer and a referral for surgery. Joe travels 400 miles from his home for pre-op testing and surgery. After returning home, Joe is under his doctor's care for a two-month recovery period. Joe files a claim under his Allstate Benefits Cancer Insurance and receives payment for the initial wellness exam, the initial cancer diagnosis, his hospital stay, surgery, anesthesia, and inpatient medication. He even receives benefits for his travel expenses. Altogether, Joe's benefit payment is enough to pay for his medical deductible with some left over for daily living expenses. |
